Pelton Wheel Flow Meters Pelton Wheel flow meters are suitable for use on virtually any clean fluid of low to medium viscosity. As the fluid passes through the meter it causes a vaned wheel to rotate. Magnets embedded in the wheel at its edges, induce a pulse in a Hall effect pickup mounted in the meter body. The number of pulses per litre (the K-Factor) is then used to derive flow rate and total. The meters are available in two options SPX and SPT. The SPX version has a transparent top cover so that the wheel can be seen rotating enabling the unit to be used as a sight flow indicator as well as a meter. The SPT version is made completely of PTFE and PVDF allowing it to be used with very aggressive chemicals. Pipe sizes from 3/8" up to 1" and flow rates up to 150 L/min enable this 10 Bar rated meter to be used in a wide variety of applications from water treatment chemical dosing to fuel flow monitoring.
