Litres/min M-Series flow
meters are based on the proven oval rotor
principle, ensuring high accuracy and
repeatability. Precision engineering eliminates
pockets in which liquid can stagnate within the
measuring chamber of the flow meter. M-Series meters are
designed to contain very few wearable and
replaceable parts. Meter construction enables fast
and easy on-site servicing without the need to
remove the body from the pipe work. The smallest models
in the M-Series range provide low cost high
resolution pulse meters capable of measuring fluids
with viscosity's from 1 to 1000 centipoise. Body
and rotor materials are either PPS or 316 S/Steel
with Hastalloy C shafts available for extremely
aggressive chemicals. Pulse output is either Hall
effect or reed switch. Higher pressure
ratings than the standard M1 & M2 as well as a
variety of connection types, pulse output and
display options make for a high degree of diversity
among the rest of the models within the M-Series
range. Head mounted and
remote display options specific to M-Series meters
are available, although various output options
ensure M-Series meters are compatible with many
types of third party instrumentation. M-Series meters
will accurately measure, mix, batch and dose an
extremely wide variety of fluid mediums including
aggressive and intrinsically safe applications. A
choice of construction and sealing materials
coupled with high viscosity and high temperature
options enable the engineer to select a model which
is tailored to the application at hand. >

Litres/min M05-
1/8" Pulse meter. The M05 is the
smallest capacity meter in the Macnaught range. An
excellent turndown ratio (100:1) and high
resolution (1552 pulses per litre) make this meter
an ideal choice for low flow metering. The meter is
available in aluminium or stainless steel and with
either a Hall Effect or reed switch sensor. Maximum
pressure rating is 10 bar (150 psi), maximum
temperature is 120°C, and the flow range is
0.5...50 L/hr. Meter

O'Rings are available for the M Series range to
allow the flowmeters to have maximum flexibility in
most applications. For fluid
temperatures above 80°C/176°F and up to
120°C/248°F, operators may select 'high
temperature' rotors. This option only applies for
the PPS rotor models of the M4,
M10,
M40
and M50
as meters fitted with stainless steel rotors are
capable of handling temperatures up to
120°C/248°F. (Except mechanical version
which are limited to
80°C/176°F). For fluids above
1000cps, viscosity, optional high viscosity PPS or
stainless steel rotors can be specified for
M4,
M10,
M40
and M50
(PPS only) models. If necessary consult your local
distributor for additional technical assistance as
the flow rate will vary in accordance with fluid
viscosity (See page 26). The
M4,
M10,
M40
and M50
pulse models can be optionally fitted with two
digital output Hall Effect Switches to eliminate
oscillation (pulse bounce) experienced with
standard reed switches. Mechanical versions
of the M10, M40 and M50 aluminium models can be
fitted with a special seal kit for use with most
common solvents. This kit is standard on all
stainless steel mechanical models. Special Hastalloy C
Shafts are available for the M1
and M2
PPS body meters for use with extremely aggressive
chemicals. DELUXE LC DISPLAY
ONLY These displays can
be head mounted on to M-Series pulse meters
originally supplied without a display, or supplied
with mounting brackets and mounted remotely. They
can be connected also to the auxiliary pulse output
of a local display meter for use as a second remote
display. Accessory part numbers are F500 (deluxe
version EEx ia Rate/Total + batching
facilities) and G500 (standard version Rate/Total +
Re-set) DELUXE LC DISPLAY
ONLY This replacement
Lithium 3-volt (CR123A) extended life battery will
approximately double the service period but the
"intrinsically safe" feature will be lost.
Accessory part number is L500. The deluxe LC
Display is available on specific M4,
M10,
M40
and M50
series models. It is also available as an accessory
so it can be used as a remote mounted display for
any M Series meter model supplied without a display
e.g. M1,
M2, M10
etc. The Mechanical

M4
M10
M40and
